About Gary & Sheritha

Pastor Gary was saved at the age of eight. A few years later, God laid on his heart to preach. This was confirmed with God’s call to ministry when South African missionary Bill Meyer preached a missions conference and challenged the church from Mat 9:36:

“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.” 

Sheritha trusted Christ at a Youth camp at the age of 16 and also felt burdened to serve the Lord in full time ministry. Pastor Gary and Sheritha were married in 2008 and have since had four amazing children who serve God with them.

Pastor Gary completed his training and preparation for ministry at Grace Baptist Church, Roodepoort (Now Bethel Baptist Church) and was ordained in 2010. God called him to establish a church plant in Port Elizabeth for the next six years, then brought him back as assistant pastor at Bethel until 2024.

 Independent Baptist Church Pretoria was planted by American missionary Jerrold and Karen Myers in 2017. In 2024, the Lord confirmed His will to bring pastor Gary to IBC!!!

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
